The Best Breweries, Wineries, Distilleries, and Cideries to Grab a Drink Near Kin House Kerhonkson

Upstate New York is plentiful with places to grab a cold one. It’s fruitful (pun intended) with wineries, breweries, distilleries, and more.

There are many amazing breweries within a short drive to Kin House that have awesome brew, delicious drinks, and many that are crafted using natural or local ingredients.

Here are a list of some of our favorites in the area within about a 30-minute drive from Kin House.

Arrowood Farm-Brewery

Arrowood is a sustainably minded farm brewery, distillery, and event destination in the beautiful and bountiful Hudson Valley. They brew their beer with ingredients grown right onsite and from small like-minded New York Farmers. Their spirits are made using grains grown up the road. They also serve locally inspired comfort food. They have events during the warmer months and it’s an awesome place to sit-back, relax, and enjoy with friends.

Rough Cut Brewing

Rough Cut Brewing is Kerhonkson’s original brewery and restaurant. It’s only 3 minutes from Kin House.

New Paltz Brewing:

Their taproom is currently closed due to Covid, however you can still pick up beer here. They make local handcrafted Lagers. If you are a fan of local beer this is a great spot to stop by. This is the furthest from Kin-House.

Accord Market

While not a brewery, if you want to just pick up some local beer, cider, and wine, I recommend, stopping by Accord Market. They have a wide variety of local craft beers and drinks. You can also get delicious snacks and local produce here to cook at Kin-House and make lasting memories.

Inside Accord Market

In addition to breweries there are many awesome, delicious, and fun wineries / places to get cider.

Here are a list of a few of our favorite wineries and orchards for cider:

Angry Orchard

For craft cider there is nothing quite like Angry Orchard. It’s a 60 acre orchard in Walden in the heart of Hudson Valley. Best of all it’s only minutes from Kin-House. At the orchard there are tours and so many ciders to try. They also have small bites and from time to time big events open to the public. During peak season it can get crowded, but it’s a huge property and worth checking out!

Brooklyn Cider House

Brooklyn Cider House is an awesome spot. Twin Star Orchards are the exclusive provider for all cider for Brooklyn Cider House. At Twin Star Orchards, they are determined to grow the best raw materials for their cider. They integrate IPM and organic and biodynamic approaches to work towards becoming more sustainable. Within 1-2 years, they expect to source all of their apples for cider production from their farm. In addition to sweet cider, they also sell wood-fire pizza and boy is it delicious! In season, you can also pick apples and strawberries fresh from the farm!

Whitecliff Vineyard & Winery

Whitecliff focuses on regional, sustainable, artisanal, and vegan. In the Hudson Valley, they serve one of the largest wine selections and have the most international awards. Visitors are limited to groups of 6 people or less unless approved beforehand. Reservations are not required, but can be made ahead of time. They have both various tasting flights as well as guided tastings. I highly recommend checking it out if you like wine!
